AURA is currently engaged in an awareness campaign focusing on children's rights and youth problems. This campaign, financed by Plan, is called: POTO-POTO.

The project was officially launched in July 2006. It is structured around an album that focuses on the theme of children's rights.
The name of the album is: "The extraordinary stories of the
POTO-POTOchildren".

This concept album will provide the soundtrack (the music, text and sound effects) to a musical comedy which will be set in an African market; the POTO-POTOmarket. In this market, children from diverse backgrounds and situations meet, chat to each other and exchange their stories.

Each rapper plays the role of a particular child and raises issues concerning their own particular situation: child soldier, AIDS victim, child prostitute, drug dealer, humanitarian doctor, victim of a forced marriage, servant, rich problem child, sick child etc.

The
POTO-POTO concerts serve as the backdrops for these extraordinary meetings and through them the songs highlight the problems that Africa's children face.

Video clips will be created to support the album and in 2007 two such clips were released to great acclaim; "Bienvenue à Poto-Poto" and "Poto-Poto Dancing". "Bienvenue à Poto-Poto" reached the top spot in the video charts on the urban music channel Trace TV.

Production of a film version of this musical comedy POTO-POTO is currently underway. A documentary detailing the production process will be produced to accompany the film. A collaborative book will also be released, featuring work by children, authors and AURA's artists.

This internet site aims to provide current updates of the project and its forum will enable people to contribute to free and open discussions. The POTO-POTO project is open to any ideas and collaboration opportunities.

Le projet POTO-POTO is currently supported by such well known artists as Alpha Blondy, Sékouba Bambino, and Kamaldine.

Monsieur. Cheickh Omar Cissoko, cinematic producer and Malian Minister for Culture has agreed to support the project and to take on the role of facilitator.

The coordination and organisation of the POTO-POTO Project is implemented by 'Accents Multiples' a cultural mediation and engineering company based in Senegal and founded by former Plan employees:
